Readers in Rhode Island and the surrounding area may want to mark their calendars now. Solemn Mass in the Extraordinary Form will begin at 7:00 pm on Friday, August 15th, at Holy Ghost Church in Tiverton, R.I. Under the leadership of its pastor and my friend Father Jay Finelli (the “iPadre”), Holy Ghost has become a showpiece of the new liturgical movement: ad orientem for both the Ordinary and Extraordinary forms, generous use of Latin and Gregorian chant, quality music, Communion at the altar rail, sacred vessels and vestments worthy of the divine Sacrifice, doctrinally meaty preaching and catechesis, etc. (see HERE and HERE).
